Sorry for the incomplete earlier post ,my question is.I currently own a CDS1 that I am about to upgrade to a CDS2/XPS what is the cheapest or most effective route.Do I have the head unit done [£1600] and live with the CDPS or sell it all for about £2000 and put that towards a bargain CDS2 from Loot for example.Any one been in this position ....what are the pros and cons ?

this is how I see the economics:-

The CDS-II upgrade will cost you £1,600.

The CDPS on it's own has a value of approx £500, depending on age and colour of Burndy. Assuming £1,500-ish for a s/h XPS, it's cost you about £2,600.

Assuming you can get a CDS-II / XPS combo for around £4,500, and sell the CDS-I for £2,000, it will have cost you almost exactly the same. You do get a brand-new head unit through the upgrade path, though. This is always nice with mechanical components.

On the downside, an original CDS-II comes with a Flash remote, which would cost you £300 to buy separately. Depends if you think you'd use it, or leave it in a cupboard as a friend of mine does!

Of course, adjust these figures according to the deals you can arrange.
