Bank Interest Rate to keep dropping ?Bank rate is already at a 50 year low of 3%.
Governor of the Bank of England has hinted it could soon drop to 2%
Evening papers have suggested 0%
How soon before the banks start PAYING us to borrow their money?

Cheers

Not done Japan any harm. IMO. At least when I see it on telly.

One difference.
Japan makes things the world wants to buy.
Most of the banks have already said that's your lot, no more rate drops will be passed on below 3%.

Which is perhaps not unreasonable or unexpected.

Checked our mortgage papers last night, no minimum rate for us in the small print and ours tracks base rate for the duration of the mortgage too (obviously a good thing at present). Our repayments will be a third less than this time last year and will drop further if more cuts are imminent.
Not sure what to do with our savings that are currently offset against it though, probably have to move them elsewhere to get a better rate.
