Private Jets, a few questions.

Posted by: Roy T on 20 June 2005

After a bit of blue sky thinking over the weekend I realised that there maybe a need to transport between 6 and say 12 coworkers around Europe and prehaps further afield with the minimum of fuss. Now after reading a short piece in the FT and doing a few quick sums the up to now unthinkable world of private jet charter and fractional ownership may at first glance be worthy of further examination.

I have given the net a bit of a hammering and viewed offerings from the likes of
FlexiJet,
TagAviation,
FlightManagement,
NetJets
and am still a bit unclear about what is best in the Fractional Ownership Vs Charter debate.

So if anyone has anything to offer on this subject and private jets in general I'd be only too happy to listen and ask a few further questions if I may.

Oh Fuck not 'Defence' Reed is in the Boss's bad books at the moment, so maybe you should drop his folk a line with the right language, and you could well be sorted, I presume you're all British afterall, innit ? (Mention Our Mick, and they will 'fix it for you' Cool

Not that I know, even vaguely, what I am talking about here, but jets rather limit the airports that you can fly into because of runway length I would have thought.

Runway lengths can indeed be an issue with a jet - check where you're going to be sure they can accommodate!
Also, watch that any prices quoted include fuel! Pilots usually require hotel accommodation too - Novotels might not be acceptable!

Some jets have limited range, so your "rather afield" flights may mean mulitple stops for refueling. Again, be sure where you need to go and if the available jet(s) have the right range.

I'd speak to all the charter companies to get a feel for what they do and do not offer.

If you really get stuck, I know a man with experience having chartered jets for himself, so I could ask.....
