The 82

Posted by: Malcolm Davey on 19 November 2001

On a sort of holiday last week I took the opportunity to visit my favourite dealer - Creative Audio in Shrewsbury. The object to hear an 82in a semblance of my own system . I have a 32.5 preamp so they used a 72. Only 5 minutes were needed to convince us that we had to buy the 82!! used the excellent Foo Foo's (thanks to the Barbie) as one of my tests. Yes folks we were blown away. Much longer was then spent simply enjoying the music.... Russ and Steve from the Wirral we have now joined the club (thank goodness for a flexible friend!). Now its saving up again for a decent stand - probably Ash or would I be better off adding a second hicap. Opinions/Thoughts always appreciated.

Find a s/h Hicap for approx. 350-400 £.

The improvement is big and when you have money for s Scap you will not loose much when reselling the Hicap. Or you can just stick with 2 Hicaps, it's really not that bad!

Claus,

You're missing pony's point! What Malcolm needs to do is to skip the 2nd hicap and to find a Supercap for UKP700-800, selling his hicap for 350-400. How difficult could that be? :-)
