Vinyl to CD transfer

Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of Vinyl to CD transfer?
I've just looked up a few companies that do it on the net, one states that they use an LP12 as the source, sounds promising?!

I've been transferring vinyl to CD on a fairly regular basis recently, mainly stuff that doesn't appear readily available to buy on CD.
As stated by Hyde it's worth searching the forum as there's all sorts of related threads on this that have been very useful for myself.
You can get good results IMO by transferring to the PC then burning to CD, depending on your sound card etc.
However, if you just want straight copies and don't intend to clean up any of clicks and pops etc then a dedicated CD recorder may be a better option. I seem to recall that the Pioneer and Marantz were popular in the budget range some time ago.
If you are going the PC route the the M-Audio and TerraTec sound cards are very popular and allow you to record at higher sampling rates etc.

Two routes:
record deck -> amp -> standalone CD recorder
or
Record deck -> phono amp -> PC soundcard - *.WAV file -> CDR
I use both, and a comination.
For unedited compliation of singles the direct route is good, as you can move the track index on with each track.
For albums with a track to track relationship, the PC edit is useful to divide the long tracks of one side each into the seperate tracks.
The PC route also helps to clean up clicks and scratches which may be present on older records. Even a touch of EQ to liven up a dull recording (sacrilege, I know)
I can provide more specifics if interested.
