Another AV2 question...

Have checked the manual and can't find this...
...is it possible to get the AV2 to duplicate the front stereo R/L channels to the surround R/L speakers? (ie 4 channel sound but without DPL II or DTS NEO signal processing)
And, whilst I'm here, another question:
The "input setup routine" includes two parameters not mentioned in the manual: NEO and SYN.
What do these control?

Q1:- not as far as I am aware
Q2:- Page 20 of the combined DVD5/AV2 manual, section 18.1.19 and 18.1.10

AV, Manu & Mike - thanks for the replies - (Manu - as it happens, we talked on the phone this this week about my NAC112).
AV's answers were fairly straightforward - it looks like I can't do what I asked about in Q1 and the answer to Q2 was to be found in the combined DVD5/AV2 manual.
