What with today's biggest Public Workers (Caaaancil) Strike since 1927 in UK, one wonders if Our Mick would have them shot at dawn, or if in fact fact anybody will actually notice any difference (barring the greedy PFI interest gobbling firms that is?). The recent report regarding the four burley sober professional policemen accidently killing a tied up black suspect on camera in a cell, and still denying it, has been around for a few years in my little world, as with quite a few others too (far too many in fact), but I didn't want to upset Our Andy, innit. Just goes to show though, how four burley sober highly trained UK coppers, are much harder than a black tied up, tired & emotional, er, ex Para, dunnit, they must be well flushed, I mean it's usually six against one at least.

The real expert in UK TV developemenat at the time was AD Blumlein, who worked for EMI, and strange as it may sound was a hero of mine from the age of eleven!

It was he who set the standard for 405 lines on theold VHF broadcasts in black and white, which continued well into the 1970s.

And no I was not taught that: I read it, and was fascinated.
