does anyone know this group? I have their album simply called "Seatrain" from around 1970. I think that it is a fantastic album but I have never known anyone else who knew of them or owned this fabulous album. I have it on cd, btw. Songs like "song of Job" "Out where the hills" "broken morning" are beautiful pieces of pop/folk music with a country flair. anyone?

If you like that album, there's a good chance you'll like Marblehead Messenger by them too. The group were joined by Earth Opera singer/guitarist Peter Rowan (who went on to form, amongst other things, Old And In The Way with Jerry Garcia and invented "reggaebilly", whch is just what it says on the tin - a fusion of reggae and bluegrass).
Also the US group called Kaleidoscope (i.e. not the British psych band) were into that mixture of rock, roots, with a dash of weird, at around the same time. Check out A Beacon From Mars.

I have their debut album on A&M records. It's a US white label promotional album.
I have not heard their second album.
