One for Gianluigi

Trying to sort out our May holiday. A few days in Venice, then drive up into the Eastern Dolomiites for 5 days walking before a guided Via Ferrata second week (arranged).

Noticed your location. Is this Belluno in Veneto?

We were planning to stay around Cortina (I've been here and Madonna Di Campiglio for climbing before) and have been looking for somwhere interesting to stay, perhaps a farmhouse or similar, rather than a dull hotel. Tried the Agriturist web pages without success (not least because they are in Italian). Can you recommend a link that may help us find somewhere around Belluno/Feltre instead? Or can you suggest somewhere specific?

Cheers (ciao perhaps)

Bruce

PS My Italian is as good as my Korean. I will work on it though, promise.

Let me work on it for a couple of days and let you know.
Please let me know your exact tour plan so i can try to find something that can fit it.

Thanks for the effort. Can I mail you direct? it occurred to me that posting my holiday dates in detail may not be a wise idea-not that lots of folk do not get to know my holidays anyway but perhaps some discretion is an idea.

"Lagazuoi" refuge.
This last one is opened in summer and winter as well and you can reach it easly from Cortina or Agordo.
I used it as a base in my mountain wanderings.
You can easly reach it from "passo Falzarego" using the cableway and this let you carry suitcases and bags.
Under the cableway plant there's a parking where you can leave the car during your stay.
The refuge has a fantastic position in Dolomitis and offer one of the best landscapes.
They have restaurant and even small separated rooms with 2/3/4/5 beds and dormitories as well.
From there you can reach the most beautiful mountains of the region as "Tofane".
Take a look at the links.

This last url direct you to tourist office informatio in Cortina which is the most indicated, in the region, for gathering informations.

I'll take a further look anyway.

Ciao

Brilliant stuff, will take a look over the weekend. We'll be walking to start with, the Via Ferrata is the following week (near Lake Garda). We are used to ice/snow and a bit of scrambling though, and love staying in Refuges.

Cheers
