Depending on when it was last serviced, between £300 and £450 seems to be the going rate (Iwish they were cheaper, I want one too)

If it has not been serviced, make sure that is reflected in the price as I imagine it might need it.

I am always amazed at how much they fetch (see e-bay)

Happy shopping

Yes. If this hasn't been serviced then you shouldn't be paying much more than £300. Probably £400 with a service. If a recent service then maybe a touch above £400.

I'd like an answer about servicing as I've just secured a second hand one that's 6 years old.

Also do pre/power amps needs servicing? I have a NAC72 and NAP 140

6 year old Hicap still have legs in them, you're looking at amps around 8-10years old.

Serviced & recapped my 72/Hi/140 same time last year for around £400, at Naim.
