I think it's going to be great this year.....
Don't know why, just a feeling I get!

I think it'll be the Williams' sister.

All set up nicely for Federer v Nadal as they both blew away their opponents today with almost identical scores.
I still maintain that this will be Nadal's first Wimbledon title, though.
Mark
I'm going Federer, Nadal has a dodgy foot.

Can't argue with that.

Does anyone really give a shit, Jim?
Two walking female attitudes with muscles looking so unhappy as they play each point you wonder why they came in the first place - oh, hang on - it's probably the wad of winners cash that the commentators always say "means nothing compared to winning the championship."
It's the dullest ladies final since the last time either of these two beauties were playing.
At least with F1, we get the hilarity of listening to DC blaming brake pressure in morning practice for his awful qualifying position in the afternoon. Now that's entertainment.

I enjoyed it; some great rallies. I guess we see what we want to see.

Federer 4 4 7 7 7
Nadal 6 6 6 6 9
And, it was closer than that. An amazing display.

Whew what a match. I think Nadal just deserved it in the end but the quality was extraordinary.

Brilliant game by two of the finest players I've ever seen in 40 odd years of watching tennis.

US coverage was terrific, McEnroe was a brat in his playing days but makes a very knowledgeble commentator.
After the match, McEnroe was near tears of joy ( and compassion) while interviewing a gracious Federer regarding as McEnroe put it "the greatest match I have ever witnessed". Federer was "hurt" as you can imagine, from having left it all on the court and coming up short. Nadal was humble and respectful in victory.

Well done Murray, now if he can do the same to Nadal, he will then be a very serious proposition to other tennis players and a serious chance of hope in the finals...!
I think Nadal is a different proposition altogether, especially this year. I think this will be the year Nadal wins Wimbledon and overtakes Federer as world no1.
Ahem!

Yes I like him very much as a commentator too. He has been in and around the game at the top level of so long that he usually has something interesting to contribute.
I enjoyed watching him as a brat too

I liked McEnroe as a player and like him as commentator too.
Nadal was superb today and will become no 1, but I still think that at his peak Federer is the best player I have ever seen on a tennis court - even better than Rod Laver.
What is undeniable is that having two great players around makes for superb tennis played with the right spirit.
Nice guys can and do win.

Indeed the whole situation is very reminiscent of the Borg/McEnroe rivalry of the seventies and eighties. Apart from Nadal is not a brat!

That had me going too....Mac barely held it together to interview Nadal and to see how emotional Federer was becoming and to hug him as he did just showed the empathy he had for what was going on - superb stuff.quote:fter the match, McEnroe was near tears of joy ( and compassion) while interviewing a gracious Federer regarding as McEnroe put it "the greatest match I have ever witnessed". Awkward moments of honest emotion - what sport at its best brings out in passionate people.
Federer and Nadel each found out what is in their hearts today and each should be very proud. It was simply amazing to watch.

What a fantastic match - I'm still recovering from it. Congrats to both, they showcased their greatness.

A reminder that sport at the highest level can have tension, skill and drama yet still retain dignity and respect between the players (and crowd). A superb match, and a testament to the excellence and character of each is that in the end I did not actually mind who won. Tennis was the winner!

Dammit - missed the final. Cancelled the recording of it as I thought it would be rained off.
Maybe it'll be repeated

A rematch eh - you may have to wait until next year.
