Please speak to your dealer soon...
He should be able to give you details of any fixes/changes also
(and yes it will remove the two button press annoyance).

I just installed the new software update(s) on my n-Vi, with very mixed feelings.
Yes, the two button press annoyance is removed.
And two improvements I didn't expect:
The display goes off completely in standby after a certain time (option?).
And VERY GOOD: the fan noise is reduced dramatically if on but not used !!! Thanks, Naim!
BUT, it is still not possible to start a CD with a different track than 1, always about a second of track 1 is played before.
AND, sometimes the prev/next-buttons and the track selection doesn't work at all!!!
Since my dealer told me the updates work perfectly on his n-Vi, I suppose I need a new device (why is it always me...?)

am i missing something here, how can a software update reduce the noise of the fan?
Posted on: 22 October 2007 by Margan
John,
I guess the software controls the speed of the fan. The new software seems to run the fan with lower speed if no input signal.
Allen,
I'll be looking for the revisions.

There have been a few beta versions floating around.
Margan that track 1/PREV/NEXT issue should be fixed in the next official release.
Please keep an eye on the the FAQ section over the next week or so. When the next official production code is ready, I will note it here:-

Information on changes and fixes will also be posted in the same area.

Ah, I checked my firmware versions. Seems I got the newest CHEERS, but only PIC c02-08 (instead of c02-12). So this explains the bug.
My dealer thought this to be the official version, but it seems I have to get a new update the next days..
