Posted by: Toksik on 07 July 2003
I was in my local store STEREO STEREO today paying for a new EKOS (via insurance claim!);i had a quick demo/listen to a pair of B&W 805 Signatures. what a really good sounding pair of stand mounters they are.
does anybody on the forum currently use these?,and what's their opinion....i.e. vfm/performance rating as against their bigger brothers 802's?.

Woow... all the French guys are using B&W 805 Signature! Have any of you use the B&W805 Matrix in the past? Can you guys provide me with some comparisons between the 2 models.

Dennis,
I've tried out both 805sigs and 802s in my room, both times with two and four 135s. In all honesty I preferred the 805s. These time much better than their bigger brothers. The 802s for me seem to play a different tune on the bottom end to whats going on with the mid and top, where the sigs were tight, fast and dynamic. In the end they did not go low enough for my tastes and the treble sounded too metalic and edgie with the 135s. I have to say that this dissapeared when using a 500.
Please remember that these findings were with my room and my amplification, you may have different results. Definately worth a try.
Sean.
