Hdx networking

I'm sure that this is a common question, but I cannot find any answers as yet.
I am considering the HDX and it seems that an internet connection is most important to realize its full potential. It would be pretty difficult for me to hard-wire an ethernet connection and so I am looking for info from anyone who has connected wirelessly. Please don't suggest ethernet over mains, as I am currently a member of a group looking to have these illegal devices banned outright. I find it difficult to see why Naim have even hinted that they are suitable, as they radiate RF for nearly half a mile and obliterate short wave radio reception. The RSGB is currently considering suing OFCOM for failure to regulate these devices properly. Anyway, I digress. Has anyone used WiFI to connect the HDX to a home network?
Cheers

No.
I don't think you can.

I use an Apple Airport Express, and that works fine. I expect there are other solutions too, but I found it quite easy to configure, especially if you are using a Time Capsule or Airport Extreme as your wireless router

Any wireless bridge should work. Talks to your wireless router and supplies a hard connection for the HDX.

My question would be why is it so difficult to run the ethernet? You can run up to 100 metres in a single run, unless you live in a mansion I don't se it being an issue, and you can buy very neat and unobtrusive trunking just for the job of hiding a run.

garyi,
The problem is that my modem/router is upstairs and opposite end of the house to the hifi and having just spent a small fortune in time/effort/cost to get the house nice, I dont want to go lifting carpets/floorboards, drilling through joists and running cable through visible trunking just to make a piece of hifi equipment work! Talk about technology going backwards. I'll stick to 1/4" tape and vinyl.

Marc ,
I don't know if it helps or not but I have just had CAT5e installed between my walls . Like you I have my router upstairs and had problems with WiFi .
It was amazing what the installer was able to do with his set of bendy rods ! I now have a face place next to my HiFi rack and another in the hallway for a Wireless access point all linked back to the main router upstairs . No mess and all done in a few hours for around £200 .
Even SWMBO was happy .

Marczed,
Any tech who's worth a dime can run cable/electrical with minimal hole drilling so that should not stop anyone from maximizing their system connection and use.
Often they use already established access points in the wall and ceilings where outlet and j-boxes have already been placed and are used for lighting. It's usually easy and not expensive and defintiely worth the effort.

Run the cable on the outside wall - neat and discreete and no buggering about with internal conduit etc.

A wireless router will work just fine. I have my HDX connected to an Apple Airport Extreme, which sits behind my gear. No problems connecting to my home network.
