Copy protected CD's sound
Posted by: Minky on 13 May 2003
I had my CD player upgraded with the new "PIC" last night. It now plays the new Turin breaks, Ed Harcourt, Tom McRae, Roseanne Cash without sounding like p-p-p-p-p-porky pig but .. Am I hallucinating or do these disk sound generally odd, or even worse, has the new chip done something bad to my player ?

Dunno do they?
Remember you have just added something to the circuit (or at least changed an old something for a new one). Will take things a while to settle..

Let us know how the PIC seasons as my CDX could do with one. I'll think of you while I'm at the game and celebrating afterward..

I'm with Jay. It's the Hurricanes all the way. Unless they lose.

Copy protected CDs do suck. A quick listen will tell you.
Talking rugby is so sad.

Try the new Blur album - my copy has protection and sounds bloody fabulous!
The Foo Fighters One by One on the other hand is a bit rough, nothing to do with the copy protection though.

I mean they suck compared to the non-protected version (say Nora Jones). If the Blur one is only avaiable as a copy-protected one the its a moot point, eh?
And yes, talking about hifi is as sad as talking about rugby.
