Question regarding Nick Lees
Posted by: rocky raccoon on 21 July 2010
Hi folks -
In a previous thread Nick Lees mentions the choir in the Kate Bush song 'Hello Earth' as being 'inspired' by the Georgian Rustavi Choir -
https://forums.naimaudio.com/ev...8019385/m/2211955074I wonder if Nick (or anyone) can actually recommend the disc that most resembles the Choir on 'Hello Earth' ? It's just the kind of think I'm looking for.
Best regards,
rr

Gary
thanks for the links - that is amazing !
I'm on some sort of mad music splurge at the moment and I am in the process of gleaning info. I am trawling through the entire Naim music forum. Very informative. Downright hilarious in places. Shame not all the links work but I'm a sight less ignorant than wot I woz.
Best regards

Dave, I had that lined up for our next visit so that's a bust. I'll bring the Jannick Topp to make up for it. :-)
Rocky, you're welcome - the album is very good and has several other songs of that style (as well as a few more robust folk styles) though I find it needs to be played a bit at a time to avoid overload. If you need any further translations of Nick's more gnomic pronouncements I will attempt (at no fee) to interpret into a more modern idiom. As a starter try reading his posts as though written by a slightly demented old hippie.

Gary
I much prefer you; no need to bother that Lees chap.

No, please bring this with you! It'll sound so much better than through my PCs speakers.
...and Mike, I've met them both and have to say Gary has a much better taste in music. He is though a little older than Nick and a trifle deaf..

Gary
took delivery of a 'Mirangula' by the Rustavi Choir and by gum it is most excellent. I have not yet got into the drinking songs (it's only a matter of time) but the quieter pieces (especially Tsintskaro) are just sublime.
Thanks for the heads up -
