Stageline upgrade

Hi

Thinking of upgrading my Creek phono stage for a Stageline but not sure of the best way of powering it. At present I have no cap on my 202/200 only a NAPSC, so would running the Stageline off the 202 be a improvement over the Creek with its own P/S. I was planning to fit a High cap which would improve both CD and TT but would a Flat cap be a better option as I could power the Stageline as well as the 202.

I'm not familiar with the Creek, but I have a 200/202/PSC2 and a few months ago I bought a Stageline and am powering it off of my 202. It was a big improvement to the phono stage on my old preamp. I think the Stageline is amazing VFM and, although I'm sure a power supply would make it sound even better, right now I don't feel like I'm missing anything without it.

The HiCap has a lower noise performance than the FlatCap, and this is most important for Naim vinyl stages.

Running the Stagline via a HiCap powered 202 *should* be much the best solution.

There will be a small degradation of CD performance (over the Stageline not being plugged in at all), but it *should* still be better on CD than a 202/FlatCap/no Stageline.

cheers, Martin

Hi

Thanks for the replies, I think a home dem is needed without caps against the Creek.
