Is any Forum member going to the Wayne Shorter concert at Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Friday 7th March? If so it would be good to meet up at the bar during the interval. I'm out for a few hours now but will log on again later

Is nobody else going to hear this great man whose links go back to Art Blakey and Miles Davis before co-leading Weather Report? He is accompanied by pianist Danilo Perez, basist John Patitucci and drummer Brian Blade.

It was a good concert but I felt a bit short-changed. Another pianist played a solo set first and then Shorter and company came on after the interval at about 8.45 and finished about 9.40 - after much applause they returned for a single encore and finished before 10.00. During this time the music was good but there was little feedback - not a word of introduction or greeting was spoken by Shorter or any of the others.
