Darling "ruined" the country?

Ah, and I thought it was the greedy banks. And I'd not actually noticed the ruination.

Silly me.

Well, some of the banks. How about the Government for the framework and talking up 'have it all' to get the tax and the feel good factor? The Government's regulator? Other lenders? Ratings agencies? Corporate borrowers? The individual?

I would put the Government's part down to Gordon Brown rather than Darling, Brown would put it down to Global and Ashcroft.

Has the country ever been ruined? Now - it's taken a bit of a kicking and the 6 million odd public sector workers have yet to take their share, say 10% cut in staff. Total workforce hours is falling, and there is the debt. Might not be ruined, but it ain't great.

Cheers,
OW

I took the view of - 'Darling'? On a worldwide view there would be an awful lot of 'merchant bankers' that would be wondering if they would still be breathing next week - or be highly perforated.
It's one way of dealing with it I guess.

Just imagine the electorates headline - do your job well, get it right, or lose - your life - That may put an end to certain MP's claiming activities?

10% fewer doctors, nurses, teachers, police, care workers, social workers...that should certainly improve everything.

I know it's not the done thing to criticise people's grammar on internet forums (or fora), but please, please, pretty please with sugar on top, change the title of this to 'should have'

Please post the full quote.

I don't think it's going to be great, nor did I post that. Where do you think we are? What do you think the funding cuts are going to mean?

Cheers,
