Naim stuff review database

Posted by: dwdm on 14 September 2001

Hi,

Does any bony knows if there exists a general database containing the reviews of Naim products throughout the world (preferably original articles in the pdf format)
It may exits somewhere in this Naim home site, but I couldn't find it.

A very good example can be found on the Thiel site at :
http://www.thielaudio.com/THIEL_Web/Pages/promo_downloads.html
Note : I am NOT a Thiel dealer...

mainly provides customer reviews... but not magazine reviews (of course). What I'm looking for is a database containing electronic reprint/reviews of Naim products - possibly scanned versions.
But thanks for your help, Steve.

AudioReview allows anyone to add a new product to the review database. Sometimes people make mistakes. In this case, it's really a Myriad MCD 500. (Strangely, there are no reviews on the "correct" page either.)

If the magazines didn't grant permission, placing their copyrighted articles on the Internet wouldn't be legal. It would be immoral too.

I remember atlases in school where a good part of the world was pink

Our school had a bunch of big wall maps of Canada, and for some reason it was always pink, and I've seen a variety of globes that are the same. I've no idea why.

I'm trying to remember what color the U.S. was, and I think it was a pale yellow. Greenland and Antarctica were always green and white (of course roll eyes).

That's just too long ago. smile

Yes, Canada was and still is a Commonwealth country, which explains our pinkish hue. We're a little more arm's length now (it changed early in the 80's), but I believe our Governor General is still theoretically the Queen's representative. I don't generally pay attention to political trivia, though, so I could be wrong.

If Naim includes reviews on its web site - and I think doing so would help consumers - I would hope that all reviews are included.

Last year, I decided to make a speaker upgrade (owning a pair of Confluence Cantilene) for my (passive) 82/SC/250/CDI system. The upper limit of my budget was 4000 Keuros (£2500).
Among numerous speakers auditioned at hi-fi dealers, I considered four serious candidates : the SBLs, B&W 804, Proac, Thiel 1.5 and Apertura Tanagra. The next step was a comparative study to select two speakers : the clear winners were the 804 and the Thiels. Then I could compare the two at home, for several nights and days. No doubt for me (and for my wife and friends) : the Thiels were definitely better, on both the hi-fi and PRaT side (I can detail if necessary).
