Rosana WHO ? died (Portuguese singer)
Posted by: sjust on 12 October 2006
Heard a very attracting song sung in Portuguese language, in the car today. Could have been Brazilian or from Portugal... Here name started with Rosan(n)a, and she must have died, just a few days or weeks ago. Google couldn't help, maybe somebody here can ?

No that's Mrs Steve!!
I suspect we are going to need more info than Stefan was able to provide. Assuming she might be called Rosan(n)a and might have died recently there does not appear to be anyone.
So starting with just the name - have a listen to the clips here.
I have a few other options (including people who have died) which I will post later unless the puzzle is solved beforehand.

Hi Stefan
The dead bit is the problem for me - can you confirm she died?

Steve, Yes, unfortunately... The speaker after the song said "this song is of the great Rosana ... who - as we have already reported - just recently died of ... cancer. A great loss, indeed". Along these lines. I parked the car, murmurring "Rosana Dadada..." all the time, came home, met my daughter, who swamped me with her day's adventures, and - POOF - gone was the Dadada part...
Hmhhh,
Stefan
Oh, BTW: i liked the "other" Rosana you suggested. Might be tempted to order...

The Solution is here...
I have found the playlist of the Radio Station. The song was by Rosanna & Zelia. What embarrasses me more, is that I have the record with the song that moved me so much...
Haven't found confirmation, that Rosanna Tavares has died, though.
Boy, it has been a hard week.
Thanks everybody for helping.
cheers

Spanish singer Gloria Lasso dies at 83
01:34 2005-12-06
Spanish singer Gloria Lasso, who made her name recording romantic ballads in Latin America and Paris, died in her sleep at her home in Cuernavaca. She was 83. Friends and family on Monday planned to hold a Mass with mariachis for Lasso, whose birth name was Rosa Maria Coscolin. Her remains were cremated. She died on Sunday.
Lasso's song, "Extranos en el Paraiso" or "Strangers in Paradise," was one of her most popular. Her 1956 recording of the French song "Padre" was later recorded in English by Elvis, who said in a 1958 interview that it was his favorite song. She last performed in Cuernavaca in central Mexico on Nov. 11.
Mexican painter Jorge Cazares Campos, a close friend, said Lasso spent her last weeks of life doing what she loved. In a recent interview with the Mexico City newspaper La Jornada, Lasso said she had a tough childhood in Spain but was grateful she could go to France and make it as an artist. Lasso is survived by three daughters, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, AP reports.
Stefan,
I guess I am a little late. Anyway:
Good night,
Haim
