Zappa plays Zappa

Attended the concert at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester last night. In a word "superb". I was lucky enough to see FZ live 7 times and last nights concert led by his son Dweezil was not a let down. He was accompanied by an excellent band, details here for anyone who is interested http://www.zappaplayszappa.com/players.html. Two and a half hours without a break all for £28.50. Now that's value for money. For anyone attending future concerts on this tour here is the running order;
Apostrophe
Purple Lagoon
Magic Fingers
Carolina Hardcore
Lumpy Gravy
Montana
Village of the Sun
Echidna's Arf
Dont you ever wash that thing
Dirty Love
Gas Station
Inca Roads
Outside Now
Bamboozled by Love
Pound for a Brown
Zomby Woof
Encore;
Peaches en Regalia
Cosmik Debris
Yellow Snow
Willie the Pimp
Dweezil has certainly studied his fathers guitar playing. I could easily have shut my eyes and imagined it was Frank on stage. Really surprised at the mixture in the audience. Dads with young sons and daughters, pensioners and more women than I expected (my wife wouldn't go). All had one thing in common...they really enjoyed the music judging by their reactions. One lasting memory will be near the end they had about 12 people up on the stage to "dance". Respect goes to the guy in the tie dyed multi coloured T shirt, about 6' 4" tall, aged around 60, playing air guitar all the way through Willie the Pimp!
Nice touch at the end when all the band stayed around to chat with the audience and sign autographs etc.
If you are a rabid Zappa fan like me,or just interested in what all the fuss was about this is a concert not to missed.
Enjoy
