Latest MFSL releases

Posted by: Michael on 01 July 2008

I have received today the Roy Orbison and Chuck Berry releases from Mo-fi and they are both very good indeed...especially so the Chuck Berry one.

They are limited numbered editions, so if you like your late 50's early 60's music I can whole heartedly recommend these two... but grab them quickly!

Don't know whether its just me but I thought the Santana releases, especially Abraxas, represented something of a return to form by Mo-Fi. Before they came out, I feared they had lost ground to Classic. Looking forward to the Little Feat myself.

I didn't think that the new issue of Abraxas was quite as as good as the original mo-fi release... so I sold mine!

But they are certainly back on form with these two!

Exciting to see all the new MoFi releases and some new Vinyl & Gold CDs coming out on Cisco, like Jennifer Warnes' The Hunter.

Thanks for the info Miles.

'The Hunter', 'Famous Blue Raincoat' and 'Abraxas' duly ordered from here.

My copy of Abraxas has no number. MOFI put out a small quantity of sample discs and I think that is what you may have but can't confirm that for sure. Could be just a failure on the printers part.

I recently received this; a fine record & is mastered by S.H.

An added bonus - it's HDCD.
Has anyone got other recommendations for Audio Fidelity releases?

Cheers - John

P.S. Apologies for multiple post ...

I just got Donovans storyteller through elusivedisc. I like it a lot. its a SACD, but the CD layer sounds superb, and great music of course.
Mastered by Steve Hoffman.

I have a few

Jimmy Reed- Carnegie
Bad Co- S/t
Faces- Nods
John Lee Hooker- Boogie Chillen
Montrose- S/t

Personally I wouldn't mind to get a copy of Deep Purple- Live in London which is supposedly excellent as well.
