Hi
How many of you have albums of an artist or band and have the complete set made by that artist or band.
Ill start by saying i have every album made by "talking heads"

I tend to have complete sets of most bands I like so I have quite a lot of complete sets -Genesis (four tines), Gabriel, Hackett, Floyd (twice), Springsteen, Beatles, Young, Porcupine Tree, Beatles, Bush, and the list goes on and on and on. If not 100% complete on many artists I am pretty close. Of some favourite artists I have several different pressings.
My favourite record label is ECM and I am quite close to completeness on that label as well. It is quite a challenge tracking it all down but I now have most of the 1100+ or so recordings the label has released.

Too many to count, my most extensive collection is most likely of Miles Davis (sic).
Just like Lontano I do collect as well a few labels.

Lots, Orbital (although don't have Omen and Chime on CD, only vinyl).
Underworld, getting all the b-sides/CD singles is a bit of an obsession of mine. I have all the official live Bootlegs of Underworld too, and also a word of mouth private Ebay sale album.
I am pretty sure I have everything by Mark Kozelek, although recently discovered that the vinyl of 'The Finally LP' has two extra tracks, might pick that up at the London gig this summer.
Led Zeppelin, quite an easy one to complete, but also about five times as many bootlegs too, and that is just the tip of the iceberg for Led Zeppelin live recordings.
One problem is how do you define a complete set, there are many bands who I have all the albums by, but getting the promo versions and 12" vinyl only releases can be a real trial.
Ebay, Wikipedia and fan websites have opened up listings with a huge amount of detail of releases that go way beyond what Amazon might have for a band. For instance, here is an interesting Underworld page, but I have releases not shown on there, and there are a couple of versions (but not tracks) show that I do not have:
http://www.kompaktkiste.de/underworld.htm
Porcupine Tree is complete for the albums, but I have yet to fork out the Ebay prices for things like 'Transmission IV' (Moonloop) 12", although I have it on wav/Flac files, the same goes for the original cassette albums that were edited to make 'On the Sunday of Life'.
Still within reason, I have complete, or fairly complete sets by, Orbital, Underworld, Mark Kozelek, Led Zeppelin, Dead Can Dance, Porcupine Tree, Pearl Jam, King Crimson (but not all the Collectors Club releases of which some are audience bootlegs), Nine Inch Nails, Redshift, R.E.M, Talk Talk.
Other artists I am complete on certain periods, Genesis 1971-81, Tangerine Dream 1970-1986 (bar a couple of soundtrack appearances), and you really wouldn't want to listen to those two bands after those cut off dates! Yes (70's), Jethro Tull (70's), Bowie (70's), Joni Mitchell (70's) for ten years the same for Radiohead, but now I can't listen to them at all.
I have far more Miles Davis than many artists, 10 box sets, and ? albums, but nothing near the wikipedia discography listed:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_Davis_discography
Some bands become problematic, as members change, although not a band I like, would a Gun 'n' Roses fan consider any album without Slash as a legitimate GnR album, even if legally another members can make a product with the band logo on it?
I also think Lontano is being modest, many of the bands I have listed he has the same, and it is far more than detailed above, there can't be any E.S.T. albums not in his collection.

Zep, everything at least twice on vinyl, and at least once on CD, plus 250+ bootlegs
Floyd, ditto, but about 300 boots.
New Order - every LP at least three times (I have 11 different pressings of Movement!), plus cassettes, CDs (at least three of each), box sets, all singles in every format, plus hundreds of boots on CD, tape and LP - about 1,000 items
Joy Division, Kraftwerk, Beatles, Durutti Column, Floyd solo, everything on LP and CD - some are multiples...
Also everything (albums - at least once) by Can, Scott Walker, Neu!, Bowie, Sly & The Family Stone, A Certain Ratio, Section 25, Hendrix, Robert Plant, Cluster, Stereolab, Kings of Leon, Doves, Grateful Dead (plus 150+ live boots)
I also have 100+ Miles Davis LPs...
No wonder there's no room in the flat...

Of artists who have released more than 5 albums (otherwise it would be too easy, right?)
Bruce Springsteen
R.E.M.
Drive By Truckers
Van Morrison (actually, maybe only 95% of his solo work)
There are couple of others i'm close on - Elvis Costello and the Rolling Stones spring to mind...
What about Frank Zappa anyone?

Probably also accounts for why I am so skint all the time
