Are we ready for the Tory conference?

Should be entertaining. Just don't mention Section 28. Doh!!!
I bet David Cameron must have been having
agonies over what to wear.
I wonder if he'll have a wind machine to ruffle his hair. Maybe they'll put a smoke machine on, and when it all claers - there he is on the stage, like an entrance by Bonnie Tyler. Hey, maybe he'll sing Total Eclipse Of The Heart, and all the followers will sway obediently. Can't wait.

Ah, but will he wear his shirt in, or out ?
Either way, it can't be worse than Kinnock & Co at Sheffield all those years ago. As a country we got a lucky break, getting a glimpse of the future, just in time to avert it.

Oddly from talking to people that seems to be the impression coming out of this week's conference. I really thought that NuLab had the whole cynical brand and marketing driven politics thing wrapped up, but hats off to Cameron he's raised, or rather lowered the bar with a show of meaningless froth and soundbites that makes one dread the political future of this country. Unless he pulls a policy or indeed anything substantial out of his ass this afternoon, then we're really going to have rely on Labour losing the election, because over the last 30 years the British electorate has shown itself to be pretty dumb but they will need something tangible to hang their hats on. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by the end of this afternoon.

Listening to it now Mick, I think you're going to be crying into your beer tonight. So far he has said what he supports, but hasn't touched on how he's going to support it. It isn't adding up to much because he's holding up the "Applause" card after every two sentences to add punctuation. Two sentences - applause. Count them.

Oh dear Rasher, how right you were, a marketing construct from start to finish. Polished and preening as one might expect from an ex-PR drone but a prime example of talking without actually saying anything. God I'm actually going misty for wee Willy Hague who had least had a semblance of conviction.

The Conservative Party takes its first 'step towards change' by electing an Old Etonian as leader.
Speech bubble: "But the wrong one, it should have been me...!"
