Dave Van Ronk - good news!

As I'm sure many of you know, he made three of his earliest recordings for Prestige, two of which from the early '60s--"Inside Dave Van Ronk" and "Folksinger"--were reissued as a Fantasy twofer in the early '70s and have remained in print since then. The third, "In the Tradition" (1963), which alternates his solo performances with tracks featuring the Red Onion Jazz Band, will be
part of a forthcoming Fantasy twofer--"Two Sides of Dave Van Ronk"--also including "Your Basic Dave Van Ronk Album." The latter was recorded in
England in 1981 and previously available on Sonet and Kicking Mule. He had intended to write brief notes for the disc but finally was unable
to due to his illness. "Two Sides... will be in stores on 6/4.
