Am into this style of music, from what I've read about the BoC, but what would any owners recommend as a first album....??
Geogaddi, Music has the Right to Children, or The Campfire Headphase....
Just thought I'd ask.....
Cheers,
Ali

I have all those albums, my favourite is MhtRtC although CH is pretty good as well. I found Geogaddi a bit disappointing.

Hi Arf!
I have all and all of them makes me happy.
The last one is a bit "distant" from BOC sound, but there's a couple of pieces in it that i like as well.

Hi Ali,
There is also an EP called "In a Beautiful Place Out In The Country" on the Warp label (WAP144CD). You HAVE to get that as well as Music...
If you have any probs tracking it down just let me know

We had this subject a couple of months ago.
I think the new album The Campfire Headphase is the best yet, but I seem to be alone on that one. I think we all agree though that Beautiful Place In The Country is a must have.

Was listening to 'Music has a Right to Children' last night, along with 'Global Communication - 76:14' Oh, and 'Joni Mitchell's - Both Sides Now' which completed the latest order from Amazon.....was quite impressed with all of them to be honest!
Am slowly increasing my Joni Mitchell collection, but haven't found anything to top Blue yet.....
Another BoC album is definitely on the list, and already in the shopping basket to save for later.....
Anybody know more about the Global Communication compilations....???
76:14 was my first, and I liked it....
Cheers,
Ali

Another G.C. cd to track down is (bizarely enough) by Chapterhouse - "Blood Music" retranslated by GC. - Wonderful!
On the Dedicated label DEDCD013 - You may have to hunt around a bit but its worth it.

(PS Global Communication are a group not a compilation)

If you fancy your chance on G.C / Chapterhouse theres one on that well known auction site.
Put Global Communication in the search and youll find it.
Not cheap tho!

I've got the album on vinyl and I've never even thought about its sound quality, so I think that must mean it sounds okay.
Don't know about the CD, but I guess LP is a safe bet.

As chance would have it I found a CD copy of the Campfire Headphase in my local independent record shop. Bought it. Very nice too.

Best one is Music
Second best is Geo (which is excellent, and sometimes becomes the best)
Campfire I just can't get on with, and have been into them for years and thought I loved all their stuff. Oh well...

I've found that BoC albums take 7 or 8 listens before i really like them...CH took a couple more, but now I like it! There's a new ep, Trans Canada Highway, on it's way at the end of May, plus an accompanying video that can be found on the Warp Records web site: http://www.warprecords.com/
Previews available at Bleep http://www.bleep.com/
Regarding Global Communication, I strongly recommend their album as Reload: 'A Collection of Short Stories' if you can find a copy...

I've just received my copy of Trans Canada Highway (along with the Aphex Twin 'Chosen Lords' collection) and not only do I have a free sticker, I have a free copy of the Dayvan Cowboy video (linked above) on dvd! Warp rock!

Lee, thanks for bringing this thread back on top....have been meaning to add to it for a while...
Campfire Headphase is now in my shopping basket - it's me birfday on Sat. although I'm stuck out here (off-shore) at work until next week....will see if anybody bought it off me wish list, and if not then a wee spree will be had....
Oh-oh - got to run and tweak a turbine.....more later!
Cheers,
Ali
