Curtain Rails for Lace Curtains ...

Posted by: JamH on 07 March 2009

Hello All,

I konw this sounds a stupid question but here goes ...

I want to put lace curtains on a bay window. Normally I would just put in hooks and run elastic plastic coated wire. But I can't drill into the window because it is double-glazed [and drilling will let moisture in].

I am toild there are stick-on hooks that I can use to run the elastic cable to hold the curtains .. but where can I buy them ?

Ideally I would like names of shops in London [I am going there next week] or maybe an internet shop.

Thanks

James H.

James H, my experience is that these stick on hooks are only double sided tape, and are rather feeble. If you drill a hole and then put a screw in it, I doubt any damp would get in. Presumably you are planning to hang the curtains indoors!!

Least said about a guy with a large plasma, the better......

It's a real issue ..

I have Quad Eletrostatics [look like radiators -- who steals radiators ?] visible from the window.

I have various Naim etc.. bits out of site of the window.

Now I have a plasma TV over the fireplace and I thought it might be a good idea to get lace curtains.
