Can anyone recommend something for cleaning my new macbook? Screen and casing.

Whatever you cleaned your last Powerbook/iBook/PC laptop with?

I got a pack of a cleaner called iClean from the Apple shop. Comes with 2 x 45ml spray contains and a blue microfiber cloth.

A quick spray, a rub with the cloth, and my Powerbook G4 looks new again.

Smashing stuff

I don't have a Macbook but I have an iMac which I guess is very similar plastic.

I've had it nearly two years and all I use on it is a damp microfiber cloth, and once in a blue moon I give the case a bit of a polish with some car polish just to get rid of any real muck.

This is my first laptop rackit so not too sure what to use.

From the Apple instruction manual:

Cleaning your PowerBook

"Shut down your PowerBook and remove the battery. Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the computer's exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer. Don't use aerosol sprays, solvents or abrasives."

Cleaning your PowerBook display

"Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen."

Certainly does, brings it up like new.

I'd certainly concur with the comment about not spraying directly onto a PC to clean it.

The cloth that comes with iClean is a Micro Fiber one as Paul suggests.
