nait5i a true naim?

just saw the nait 5i on the website and read that you can use other speaker cables other than NACAs and also noticed that the input sensitivities has increased from traditional naim value of 75mv to 225mv.has anyone heard it? does it sound like a naim at all?

What is the iCOM remote?

I think the iCOM controls CD player/preamp listen/FM tuner/AV processor?

BTW, the NAP 6-50 can also drive non-Naim speaker wire; also, the rated preamp sensitivities on the existing Series 5 preamp/integrated amp are similar.

I heard the 5i products at the Heathrow Show and even in that poor environment, yes they do sound like Naim products - I was very impressed, less so with the Arriva? speakers though, which I believe at the time, were still a 'work in progress'. Smile

David,

I would agree "a work in progress", but an extremely promising one.

Compared to the big system next door, it was obvious that the little system was fundamentally working, but with some issues.

Of course, the obvious parallels will be drawn with the IBL, although these are obviously pitched somewhat less ambitiously. It will be fascinating to see how that one pans out.

cheers, Martin
