the next stage??

within a very short time scale we now have a situation where well ripped digital file a dac and tinkering a very good end sound can be used. Many people are already easing off buying cd players cds etc. A mac mini costs about £400-500 which is relatively cheap compared with the price of a cd51. But whats the next stage????
Software will change very quickly and the ipod and itunes has changed the world of music in only a few years. We'd all love to see into the future but whilst the convenience of a mac mini dac and itouch now give great convenience I think it would be foolish not to keep those cds as we may well have to re ripp them again!

Well said Allen ... too many people seam to promote ripping their CDs to a computer, then suggest selling off the original CDs.

Currently I listen to all of my music via ripped files, this will never stop me buying and collected the original format though.
