Slow Start

I find now after 6 days continuous playback, it sounds dreadful (dead, lifeless, no dynamics, etc...)
Anyone else experienced this extreme, i usually find after 3-4 days things are getting back to normal, but not this time ???

I always leave my stuff powered up 365 days a year. The cost of power is minute so why bother switching it off.

Mick
As to your sound woes, might I suggest you remove a level or two?
Nah, just kidding... I find 10-days or two weeks for the initial warmup phase for most kit. Some stuff in well-optimised systems (eg, not mine) still undergo micro-improvements over 6-8 weeks or more. Patience, patience. Or there's always computer games.
Rico - all your base are belong to us.
Give it time and keep playing it. I would say it will take approximately 10-14 days to get back to speed. In the meantime keep listening to music, the more you play it the better it gets.

(A WHOLE MONTH HOLIDAY - WOW !!...just jeleaous
Anyway with only a mild topic meander,I am in the process of taking 4 remaining days of my annual hol (use 'em or loose 'em).
With this in mind,my better-half has decided to leave me a list of jobs to do(...aw...isn't that nice of her to stop me getting bored
One of the jobs is to replace the down-stairs w.c. and install a sink (along with various other d.i.y. related chores ).
The thing is,that I have been in the house for 2 days solid....my sound system has been playing for the whole two days solid, and it sounds absolutly FAB !!! - it all gells in a really pleasing way, whereas normally it sounds ok-good
(even though it is normally powered up 24/7/365)
So,just leave it playing !!! - It will soon stop sulking at you for leaving it (I'me sure they have personalities...)

Dave: I'm 10 days in now, and my system is improving but still only achieving 50% of its original performance. It just seems to have lost that 'edge' all together, which suggests to me that maybe something is wrong (caps ???)...
Mick: My gear is usually powered 365, but after a reading a few threads regarding thunderstorms and fried amps, I reluctantly decided to power everything down rather than risk a fried system/house.
Rico/NB: Holiday SUPERB, remove a level ? only to retune and add MORE my friend, its nice to go through the warm-up improvement cycle, but I just want to get back LISTENING not ANALYSING.
Andrew: That was a thought, but a last option (don't fancy stripping everything down, then going through the mana improvement phase (exciting though it is)).
Chris: A month is not enough, SNAP I have 4 days left as well, saving them for a bank holiday week. DIY is not my forte, I still haven't fixed the bathroom lock (2 mths now), I just don't have the patience when it comes to DIY. GOOD to hear someone system is 'rockin'.
Question: my system has been playing continuously, but the sound muted - DO my speakers need a good KICKING to get them jump started as well ?

i need another holiday (soon)
