Setting my system up after storage
Posted by: Fisbey on 21 November 2003
I will shortly (hooray!) be setting my system up after 10 months spent in boxes and need to know if there are any precautions when doing so, obviously not just plugging in and cracking it up!
Can't wait to hear that crackling 'Californication' again!
Seriously - any advise?
CDI, 82 (2 hicaps), 250 + Arcs.
Thanks

Ensure volume knobs not cranked up, and remember that Naim takes a while to fully warm up.
Bottle of wine helps, too.

You open the CD drawer, put in a CD, put the puck on top.
Then you set the volume to the appropriate lever, eg. 9 o'clock.
Then press the "Play" button.
P.S. Don't forget to make sure the amp is set to "CD", and the "Mute" switch is off!

My s/h Arcs were in storage with the previous owner for about 10 months. They took about 24 hours of playing before they really came on form. Initially there were very harsh (so much so, that I nearly didn't buy them!! - Glad I did now though.

Thanks - next question - I have a quadraspire (4 shelves) and wooden floors - the rack will sick on a rug (no carpets yet - don't ask) in an alcove - do I use the pointy feet or the flat feet?

I meant sit on a rug, not sick on a rug (ah those were the days!...)
