What is your Naim in Unity Gain with?

For those waiting patiently for an AV3, what are you successfully making do with in the interim if not an AV2?
Arcam AVR600, Rotel 15 series, NAD, Marantz, etc?
I'm curious to read discussion on best HD-codec processing home cinema solutions that seem to marry well with pre-outs to a Naim 2CH setup.
(And yes, the AV2 is an amazing product that offers analog pass thru via 7.1 with certain players. Understood.)
Cheers -- also, my first post. Felt good. Be gentle, please

Mine was with an AV2 but I need an AV Pre-Amp that also controls the different Hdmi solutions and furthermore I tested a number of Blue RAy Players connected analogue to the AV2 and compared it to an Denon 2500 BR Transport connected to some different AV-Pres in my chain and the later sounded significantly better (showing the weakness of the built in decoders in the Players.

Grüß Gott! Thank you for the reply. We are in similar situations, although it seems you have been more successful at demoing multiple pairings of BD source and AV pre/pro in your chain. If I may ask, which pairings have you tried and could you describe the rest of your system. Vielen Dank.

Munch, is this the "something big in the pipe line for next April" you speak of?
Just heard and then read about some changes at US Naim distributor -- formerly ASL, now NAIM (North American Import & Marketing) clever acronym indeed. Anyway, an excerpt from their press release reads:
"We invite you to visit us in Las Vegas at CES 2010 in the Venetian Tower, Suite 30-101, Thursday 7th – Sunday 10th January, 2010. In attendance will be Dave, Charlie, and Jenny, as well as Doug Graham from Naim UK and Alan Ainslie from NaimNet. In fact, we’ll be rolling out a significant new product – details to follow!"
The original copy can be read here:

Perhaps an AV3?
Pray tell... dish, dish, dish

Another mention here...

The inevitable assumption that a trip to CES usually brings new "news" - the question is what exactly?

I tried a Denon BR Player (3800) a Pioneer BDP LX 91 and the Oppo. All of them analogue in the AV2, results were good but none of them so very convincing (soundwise) vs an AV2 fed with DD ot DTS sound from a DVD that I felt a change necessary.
Then I tested the Arcam AV888, Rotel RSP 1570 and the Denon AVR 4810 (only as pre) and all of them (together with a Denon 2500 drive) sounded so much more convincing with BR that the decision for the future was clear. Actually I tend to a Rotel Pre or AVR (as the Nap 175 is not the best option for the Center), unless Naim would offer an AV3. Apart form HD decoding it should be able to handle at least three or four Hdmi sources (no processing needed from my side).
Maybe I also go the stereo route for a while until it becomes more clear whether an AV3 will really come down the road or not.

Gents,
I have not hooked up any AV processor yet to my Uniti (planning to do so when the AV3 is out). At the moment, I'm just connecting my HD Sat Box and BDP to the Uniti to run in stereo mode.
The problem is, the volume is too low from these two video sources, I mean let say I would play other inputs i.e. CD, UPnP, iRadio, FM between 35 to 40 volume level, but for audio from video source I have to crank up to 50 to 55 sometimes to get a decent level.
I think I have a rather decent interconnects and HDMI cables installed for the two video sources.
Does the phono audio out from HD Sat Box and BDP converts whatever surround signal into stereo before passing through the Uniti?
Any comment and help is most appreciated.
cto007, sorry I this question hijacked your thread. The mods can move them somewhere I suppose.
Thanks

To rekindle this thread (note I did not say "flame" -- I am now down to considering a Rotel RSX-1550 (using a NAC202 and NAP200 in unity gain for front L/R) while using the internal amps of the Rotel for the other channels. As I am de-emphasizing home cinema in my usage scenarios, the Arcam kit came off the list due to expense - those addt'l dollars better spent on the Naim DAC or perhaps some PSU upgrades.
So, anyone using such a combo? Maybe even the RSP-1570? My next step is to negotiate some kind of in-home demo - which I have been successful at before with my main Rotel dealer for other product lines. Either way, thought I'd ping the community for thoughts.
(btw - my 7.1 speaker setup is all B&W 600 series (683/HTM2/DS3/686/ASW700), room is partially treated 12'/4m x 22'/7m x 8'/2.5m ceilings)
cheers

And so it shall be done... taking delivery of a Marantz AV8003 processor this week.
I will run in 2.1 mode with phantom center until I find a 5-channel amp to pair with my NAP200. A used NAPV175 would be great, then worry about the rather non-essential rear surrounds to round out the 7.1 later. 5.1 is fine with me.
Any recommendations to pair with NAP200 if a NAPV175 remains elusive? (And, yes, 5 NAP135s is out of my budget )

Herey -- I believe al down-mixing of the multi-channel soundtrack to stereo would happen within the source. The Uniti would then simply accept the stereo signal through the 2-channel analogue phono inputs.
With regard to any "hijacking" of the thread -- no worries, in fact it helped blow some dust off this sleepy thread Cheers!
