Nait2 rca conversion

Posted by: Lightkeeper on 09 April 2002

I am interesting did anyone try to convert one line input on Nait 2 to female rca connectors?
Did cables which are connected to din inside Nait, long enough to (after unsolder from din and din removing) come a little bit outside of back faceplate through ex. din hole, so I can solder rca connectors on it?

I will apreciate any good advice.
Thanks,

Ozren

Ditch the phono stage section, converting the "phono" input to line-level will probably work better. This could be done quite easily by a competent technician or at the factory--may even make the other inputs sound better, too.

You'd need a Stageline if you've got phono, but this'd be an upgrade anyway...

If you're not using it David's advice is sound - I've done this to my Nait1, used as an amp for my PC.

You need to disconnect the power feed to the phono stage (lift a resistor or two), disconnect the input and output of the phono circuit (remove coupling caps) and link the phono sockets to the line stage input.

Sounds more daunting than it is in reality, but the main PCB requires care when refitting - the o/p transistors must be isolated from the chassis.

I'd recommend taking Davids advice - get a competent technician or Naim to do it for you.
