Which artists are you seeing in 2010?

Seems the bookings are now flowing into 2010, so a new thread.
I've just booked tickets for Chris Rea , Brighton Centre in March. Better seats than last time , I think.

Just saw Zappa Plays Zappa for the 3rd time last night - outstanding as always, and Sheila Gonzales is an amazing musician. (Well so is everyone in the band, but she gets special kudos.)

A fave of mine - who is in his band this tour?
Posted on: 13 January 2010 by Kevin-W
Doc
The band is: Jesse Gress; Prairie Prince; Kasim Sulton; Bobby Strickland; Ralph Schuckett; and Greg Hawkes.
He's doing all of A Wizard, A True Star and a set of Robert Johnson covers. Can't wait!

Sounds awesome! My brother was best friends with Kasim's brother in his high school years (we are all from Staten Island) - I hope that tour comes my way as well!

Saw Dreadzone at the Larmer Tree festival last summer. A wet cold and horrible evening - DZ were the perfect thing to get everyone warm again. Might just make the effort to catch one of these dates.

Welcome and congrats on seeing Sam Baker. Is that the folk festival in Canada?

British Sea Power at the Westie Feb 8th.
As discovered by Mrs S on Facebook (it has finally been of some benefit!) as she is a 'friend' of the Westie.

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the welcome.
There are many folk festivals in Canada, one of which happens to be in Calgary. It takes place sometime in late July, and my wife and I along with numerous friends, go to it every year. The performances I have listed, though, are individual concerts taking place in January and early February.
I have seen Sam Baker before and it was a religious kind of experience. He is very special IMO. This performance is going to be in a church, no less!
I have seen Steve Earle a few times. This time he's going to be solo acoustic in the Performing Arts Center in Calgary. Steve is doing his tribute to Townes Van Zandt on this tour. I can't wait!
The Polyjesters are a group of talented musicians that blend swing, gypsy, and God knows what else, into a style they call "Kachunk". They feature baritone ukelele, violin, acoustic and electric guitar, acoustic bass, and drums. They are the perfect "filling" for a Steve Earle/Sam Baker sandwich.
Cheers

Bootleg Beatles.
Allowing me to use one of my favourite HMHB lyrics, I'm off to see the Bootleg Beatles as the Bootleg Mark Chapman
