Hi Ray,

Total of two screws in the loading tray area as you've found. There are three additional screws on the bottom of the unit. They lock the mainboard's suspension during transport. Remember to lock the upper (transport or loading tray) just as you've done "before" flipping the unit over.

When re-installing the cds after transport unlock the "lower" (mainboard) screws *first* , flip the unit right side up and unlock the "upper" (transport or loading tray) screws *last*.

hope this helps,

dave

Dave,
Thanks for that,I can now send it to naim for upgrade to a CDS2.......I presume the transit locks are different on the CDS2.

Hi Ray,

I don't think it matters (side vs. upside down) when it comes to the lower screws on the cds. The cdi doesn't have a suspended mainboard , simply rubber grommets between board and support pillar nuts (not 100% sure on this though). I believe the transit locks on the cds 2 are the same as the cds1 , good question for your dealer when you pick the unit up.(or Naim.... or just thought of this... check the cds2 owner's manual on-line !)

Congrats on the conversion btw. Waiting for mine to break first wink

but if anyone is upgrading a CDS1 to CDS2 and the CDPS to an XPS could they e-mail Brian/BD. I know he's hunting for a CDPS.

When I phoned Naim about transporting my cdi I was told to gently rotate the player about the edge closest to the glass lid in order to easily access the underside to fit the transport screws. No flipping !

Team

Sounds good to me.
