Outstanding Live Al***s

Having just slipped this on the turntable,

,IMHO one of the best live albums of all time, I set to thinking of others in that class. I guess I mean live albums which are so good you should buy them even if you have all the studio albums already. Live albums which bring something fresh and new to the music.
From my own shelves the following came to mind,
Made in Japan by Deep Purple,
Live & Dangerous by Thin Lizzy,
Working without a safety net by Janis Ian,
Live at Massey Hall by Neil Young,
Acoustic Live by Nils Lofgren,
The Koln Concert by Keith Jarrett.
What other albums deserve to join this rarefied company in your opinion.

Stan Webb - "Stan the man live" his cover of The Thrill is Gone is amazing! The best £6.50 I ever spent on music

On your head then, mine will be on it's way.

"Live in Les Baux de Provence" John Illsley with Cunla and Greg Pearle. Former Dire Straits bassist takes lead guitar duties with an excellent Irish band and adds some soul to some classic Straits tunes, plus covers of a real eclectic mix of other peoples' songs. (Cocaine, First We Take Manhattan, Southern Man, Mrs Robinson!)

The Doors "Absolutely Live" (although it wasn't!).
Hendrix at Woodstock must beat just about anything else, of course!

Robben Ford - The Authorized Bootleg [Live]
I copied this from a friend about ten years ago. Yesterday I happened to listen through it from start to finish for the first time. It's really great! Some kind of modern blues, for you who aren't familiar with Robben. Very good sound to.

Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same (Revisit)
With bells on. For me this blows away all previous versions (much as I expected after DVD was released). The sound is much warmer/fatter and hence way more powerful than the original release. My only regret in life (so far) is not being quite old enough to have seen them play live.
Also - Whitesnake - Live in the Heart of the City. This is the blues rock version of Whitesnake before DC went all hair metal to please the US market. This is a remaster also with all the tracks from the original vinyl release.
Cheers

Yeah, I played the Song Remains The Same (revisit) twice, back to back, last night. Just didn't want to stop listening. The new additional tracks add so much IMO. Must have been a really hard decision to leave them out of the original release. Misty Mountain Hop & Since I've Been Loving You particularly enjoyable. And if you wanna hear how low your system can go just have a listen to No Quarter. Like a feckin' earthquake!
I bought this after finding the vinyl version I'd already ordered will now not be out till March, a three month delay. It will have to be good to better the CD...
Regards,
Steve O.
