Wilco

Did any Wilco enthusiast make the transition from Summerteeth to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot; and if so, can they tell me how ?

Oh yes! I listen to YHF 5 times for every one spin of Summerteeth (or indeed Being There). Great to hear a band just do exactly what they want. Perhaps if you get 'A Ghost is Born' you'll be happier, in some ways this is more resolved and tries just a bit less hard than YHF. It still sounds nothing like 'Summerteeth' though.
If you are still not content then try the two Mermaid Avenue (Billy Bragg/WIlco together) albums for a more old-fashioned Wilco sound. Richmond Fontaine 'Post to Wire' may also be up your street.

Ok, thanks for that. Tonight I'll start with the latest and work backwords. I do like Mr Tweedy's neurotic guitar playing, but I also like a bit of melody, maybe I just have to look/listen harder.
By the same token I never made the transition from The Bends to OK Computer either.

Mr Diode,
Try Anodyne by Uncle Tupelo too.
