Bruce Cockburn (Revisited)

Posted by: jim learoyd on 23 March 2005

Just an update on Bruce Cockburn over the last few months. I have bought several of his cds and to date is:

Dancing in the Dragon's Jaws (Deluxe Version Remastered)
Humans (Deluxe Version Remastered)
Christmas (bought used for £2.50)
Waiting for a miracle (bought used again for £2.50)
Nothing but a Burning Light
Charity of Night
Breakfast in New Orleans, Dinner in Timbuktu

Bruce has certainly made a big impact over this last few months on my system. Great music, and excellent song writing. I believe he has made near on 30 albums! I still have along way to go in his collection. Looking at Dart to the Heart next. Any further suggestions?

Dart to the Heart, absolutely. It has become my second fave lately.

Beyond that, maybe Stealing Fire. Different - politically charged and angry, but brilliant. Worth it for "Lovers In A Dangerous Time" alone.

Hi Jim,

'Dart To The Heart' is right up there, produced by T-Bone Burnett who's also worth checking out. Try getting hold of his album 'The Criminal Under My Own Hat'.

Bruce is one of those artists that once you start on a few albums you'll want em' all Smile

Further suggestions are 'Salt, Sun And Time', 'High Winds, White Sky', 'In The Falling Dark' and 'Further Adventures Of'

Cheers

Rick.

Another vote for 'Dart To The Heart' (1994).

My favourite BC album though, is 'Stealing Fire' (1984).
