I've seen an n-Vi considerably outclass players that were upscaling through HDMI whilst the n-Vi was outputting an interlaced RGB signal through scart.

You are asking a question but I (and perhaps others) am at a loss to know what it is.
Could you expand and clarify (if not painful).

The original post was referring to the lack of an HDMI socket on the n-VI, and thus concluding that a £50 tescos player must be better quality.
There were some pretty disparaging remarks too, which is probably why its' author trimmed it just after I'd replied.

DVD resolution via the DVD5/n-Vi would still be 720x576/720x480 regardless of it being HDMI or not.
