A game of Mornington Crescent anyone?

We had a great game quite a while ago shortly after the death of the late and great Humph.

(MCC statistics from 2002 Stovolds Almanac: Humphrey 'Humph' Lyttleton, playing career 1893-, Games Played 68,934, Won 68,933, Lost 1, Avg.0.99999. Comments: Trumpet player for Radiohead).

Well it has been a couple of years, and since the last game here was such a success I thought it might be time for a rematch.

'Mortimer's Standard' might be a good version to play, easy for beginners, but just to give it a little spice the 'Fragonard Variation' could be implemented, passing on opposites is banned, reverse loops are in nip, and southbound returns must be followed by a straight action. Extra points may also be scored for square moves.

Please feel free to offer other options on the best variation to play, and of course if there are any new rules introduced since my 2002 Almanac (I really must get a more up to date copy of Stovold), please make any players aware of them.

If others feel that is a good game to play then I might suggest this as a start.

Sloane Square.

If your teenagers are scratching their heads, many of the anagrams make excellent band names.

Although I never like to be strict - I think Rotherhithe must stand.

I seldom play 'Mortimer's Standard' as most of my gaming friends are Norwegian.

Falling back on the underlying maths of the game I hope (and hop) -

Woolwich Arsenal

meets the strictures of Mortimer's. If so, as it is both end-of-line and has wheelchair access I claim my 'skip' and so to -

Mudchute.

I'll delete this if I've lost the plot. If accepted - could Samantha note the double points under "Bethlehem Rules" which I believe are assumed under Mortimer.

Breathtaking, and right under our noses! Kennington (Charing Cross branch).

NB. Samantha's double points duly noted.

Pairing!

Blackhorse Road and Whitehorse, two horses within in three moves.

You must reverse down a parallel and play a loop, I suggest 'Mile End'.

Meanwhile Samantha spent so much time down in the gramophone library researching this, that she's been asked to take over as the new supervisor. Her first task is a complete staff reorganisation, and to allocate new duties to the nice old archivists. They say that when she's finished her assessment, they're hoping Samantha will give them a group presentation in the conference room, and then hand jobs out in the office.
