Just seen a TV double documentary on Stan Tracey, looking at his career over the decades. Makes me wish I was around to see him play in the early 60’s.

I saw him twice, once with Brian Spring on drums and once with a very young Clark Tracey. Both performances were very good but the young Tracey had a lot of developing to do at that time (certainly compared to Brian Spring).
Also saw the fascinating documentary, beyond belief that he actually considered giving up music to become a postman because he couldn't make ends meet (might have had something to do with a large intake of drugs costing a fortune).
