Forum Rugby Club - new season, new thread
Posted by: JWM on 03 September 2008
Well boys, new season about to start. But let's think already about the end...
Just to keep you boys keen, let's pretend for a moment it might not be another Tigers v Wasps final, let's pretend that anyone could be in it, even Glaws...
Before long we'll have the chance to book ahead for seats (whoever's in the final). Forum Rugby Club day out at Twickers? Hifi morning. Beer. Rugby (a whole row together, around the half way line). More beer. Pie. (Or perhaps a corporate tailgate party? Mark?). More beer.
There's potential in this...

Closer than I'd like - distinctly unerving for the last 10 mins - makes the events of the Worcester game even harder to take tho' - did your lad enjoy himself?
Posted on: 08 March 2009 by Chillkram
The last 10 was a little fraught but, Thompstone's try aside, they defended well and didn't actually look like being breached. Irish were camped on our line and that was right in front of us. It was clear to see how tight our defence was from close up. It was never in doubt!!!!
Rob enjoyed himself and I have booked tickets for the Gloucester game in late April.

Hmm. Totally humiliated is a bit rum , i mean 21-16 with the French celebrating like it was a world cup final victory doesn't equate to total humilitation to me,just the better team won on the night .quote:Originally posted by Nick from Suffolk:
Thank goodness for that - the Welsh totally humiliated. Couldn't really happen to a better nation!

You're very welcome to the Rugby Club deadlifter - it's good to see another contributor on here and I hope you enjoy the banter.
Of course this will be the last time I'm nice to you on this particular thread!

Will be quite interesting to determine my support at Twickers assuming Tigers make it to the final. And Wasps don't (- still clutching at straws...)

quote:chillkram, i have got a ticket for the guinness final at H.Q and have had it for 2 months now in the faith that the tigers would get there. No matter what the outcome i never cry in my beer, i just accept that s.h.1.t happens, but would welcome the opportunity to have a beer with you and the other gents if time permits.
COME ON YOU TIGERS
deadlifter
JWM, Jamie Wednesday and I will be there. It would be good to meet up and share a beer, some rugby banter and a bit of hi-fi/music talk.
Now then.
"Oggy Oggy Oggy, Wasps Wasps Wasps!!"

I can see why a Tiger might have some difficulty with this as the mind has a wonderful way of erasing painful memories but here is a little reminder which may help.

never mind the past, always look to the future which in this case is the 16th of may. i can`t wait, although going to watch what should be the ospreys vs cardiff blues in the EDF final at HQ

Deadlifter (DL), if you are going to HQ for the Guinness Final on 16th May, I agree with Mark that it would be really good to meet up for a beer (lemonade if one's driving...).
[By the by, I had thought of getting tickets for my son and friend(s) up in the gods, so as not to cramp one another's style, but unfortunately missed the boat price-wise. They are now horrendous! Oh well, dad's day out
]
Otherwise, I have managed to make it Welford Rd about once a month this season. (Less so recently, since with 16th birthdays son and friends now qualify for full-price tickets and rail fare!) I usually go in Crumbie Stand Terrace. Always happy to meet up.

(PS If you're wondering why someone living in Norfolk follows the Tigers, it's because he's 50% Leicestershire, his mum's side of the family is Leicestershire farming, born and bred.)

JWM we will have to exchange email address nearer the time, as for getting there i will be going down on the train with a few mates and staying near HQ for the night, as you do. by the way i`ve seen the photo of chillkram in the kilt and i thought he needs a better pair of legs if he does that again, mind you if put on the mantle piece it will keep the children away from the fire.

I definitely won't be doing that again - getting married once is more than enough!

well what do you expect from a sachanach. they have no legs to carry off kilt.
Anyway, Sale will be in the final at the end of the day....and we'll win too.

Good on Bristol. Balls out and gave Tigers a scare to begin with. But not phased, ultimately Tigers came through for a good win - TO GO ON TOP OF THE GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP!!!

it`s looking good for the final not many games to go and tigers at the top where they belong. wonder what the chances are of gloucester giving wasps a kicking at 14:00 today ???? we can only pray
