The Lady is a Tramp

I just looked on wikipeadia and it says the song is a witty spoof on 1930s High Society, apparently the first line "She get's too hungry for dinner at Eight", being significant.

Ok, I'll buy that, but after having heard or listened to the songs more times than I can remember, how could a lady be considered a tramp ?

Maybe, hadn't thought outside the framework of the song. Which speaks (sings?) of someone who doesn't play by the rules.
