Not looking good for him.

Not much else I can say except my thoughts go out to his family. A lot of fans will be very upset if he has been killed.

His agent has stated Colin was piloting the helicopter, he also says he had his lad on board with him.

Very sad news.

I never saw Colin in his first rally car, a self built Hillman Avenger, but I followed him through his Nova, 205, RED Sierra and then Subaru Legacy days as often as I could.
To stand at the end of a long straight in a North Yorkshire forest and watch him driving absolutley flat out in a Cosworth was a real treat. I never saw anyone else with the commitment he had. He was even electrifying at the last two Goodwood Festival of Speeds.

We lost Richard Burns, now Colin. Frown

Very bad and very sad news.

Colin McRae was one of my heroes and I've even raced against him in a motorcycle enduro event where he seemed a nice guy. Frown

its very sad that we have lost a genuinely nice guy and fierce competitor.....not a usual combination.

He will be missed by many not least his family.
