Sistem pics 2003

Posted by: Steve Toy on 14 January 2003

Here are a few crappy pics. I've got some of Stallion's rig too, but I await his permission to post them.

I need to get the file size down. I see that we now get 50k Smile

Regards,

Steve.

Well spotted Energy. The Metz is a good TV. Flat Earth almost.
Never really understood why Roy Ghandi(sic) of Rega stopped importing them into the UK. They sound great, have a brill screen and are built like tanks (don't rattle when you turn up the wick on the main rig either) Do you get them in OZ?

Yo Marc

Care to go back and do a bit of editing? Like Deleting a few of your err "experiments" maybe?

Nice looking layout BTW. Wish I had the room/space/money to be able to afford to do that.

Another.

This time with CDS2 ontop of the 52 with a spacer shelf below. BIG difference.

Edited to keep this a scroll free zone - 400x300 seems to be about right.

damn it...

I cant even get a REGULAR picture to load on this thing and this guy's got computer generated hoppin' SBLs.

(or is that the way they really are-- and that's what all the fuss is about??)

Hey guys,

can't help but noticed that most of the system pix have very little software displayed. My room is crammed full of lps and cds that only the path of the soundwaves from the dbl to the sweet spot is cleared. Are these pix 'real' ?

What are those 'discs' under the SBLs? And what do they 'do' sonically?
Posted on: 31 March 2003 by garyi
They is chips.

Sonically, well they sound the same as five penny peices but look a heck of a lot nicer!

AJ what are them eltax styly speakers you have there?

Them is B & W's, aren't they? And you have a 3.5 plus new Flatcap? And a 82? Why don't you walk us through your stack, AJ?

I do not know yet, Ross (though thanks for asking), as everything is going reeeeaaaally slow out here. The bank transfer (Holland - UK) seems to go by paddle boat this time and I suspect I'll not get to see the Eposes before our little Paris holiday - let alone hear 'em.

herm,
your right, the system contains of a CD3.5 into a NAC82 with a Flatcap II. The B&W CM6 are driven by a NAP180.

underneath the NAC 82 is a Sony MD player that i don't use very much. and underneath the MD-player there's a NAT05 tuner.

i will ad a picture of both speakers later this week. I have to get a "broad angle lens" before i can take the picture.

So are you truly happy with the sound you're getting from the NAT05? You're using cable signal, or an antenna?

Hello !

Please let me to introduce you a part of my little Naim system.
Here is a CD5 sitting on spike/glass platform.
The difference in sound after I put it on a platform is really very noticeble. I must say that before this experimenmt, I was somehow sceptic about isolating a low-range Naim
components of shelf, but man, this really works and I suggest every newbie to try this, you will be amazed.

And the tuner sandwiched...

I agree with your sentiments Marco. However, all this talk of tuna sandwiches is making me hungry. I'll have mine in a crusty baguette with sweetcorn and mayo instead of PSUs - they might break my teeth. Big Grin

Stallion, I will try to take them further apart.
The tuner sounds better in the middle than on the top of the right rack. Strange but I think it has to do with the performance of the pre. Today I have the tuner between the XPS and the 500PS. I think the XPS is a real polluter.

Ozren, I envy your CD shelves. I went for IKEA ones with slots. Unfortunately, mine make it very obvious when I have been on a buying spree. With yours, huge numbers of CDs could slip into the house unnoticed.

Of course, you would never do that, right?

A series of 'where the hell did this come from' discussions may have occurred. Eek
Posted on: 02 April 2003 by Lightkeeper
Mekon !

I made it myself, and believe me, that mini project don't cost so much.
The shelves looks even better in nature and they're made to "eat" as much as possible cds, that's because it looks like there is about 700-800, but actually is 1000 Roll Eyes, (wife proof).

Noooo, I will never do that Roll Eyes Wink.

Alex !

Me to. She was found my incriminated Bruning Hall Sunflower Blues Band cd, damn, I need more practice Big Grin
