Here are a few crappy pics. I've got some of Stallion's rig too, but I await his permission to post them.
I need to get the file size down. I see that we now get 50k
Regards,
Steve.

Thanks robert. Didn't mean to create a hype. I just couldn't seem to get this to work. I'm working with online help now for yahoo.

Judd that's lovely. What are your thoughts on IBL vs. Ela Mk1.
IMO, the IBL does some very neat tricks whilst being quite behaved, whereas the Ela is more enjoyable overall in systems of "our calibre" and is more willing let its hair down.

I have cleared my cookies, and I can't see my pics either.
Can you see a pic if you follow this URL?

Yes, I can see that one and the one in Roberts post. Those Ela's look very cool. What are you using as a CD source?

Judd,
you aren't putting your pics on your DSL webspace - you're putting them on Yahoo!!
You CANNOT link to pics on Yahoo.
Putting pics up on webspace is a pain in the arse by comparison, but at least we'd be able to see them.
cheers, Martin

Is number 1 after number 2?
If he is I don't blame Number 2 for being where he is.
What does he do when you turn the volume up?

Paul,
admirable cat picture.
Does he / she have any advice on how to run wedded life, and / or one's miniature railroad?

I think he's wondering what keeps on flashing at him. I had to try and try again....
He didn't seem to mind how loud it was.
On the original of this shot you can just make out a whisker.

Well, now how can D marsh click the link and see my pic but when Syd does it, he can't get access. Something is wrong in a big way.
I'm starting a thread in the cell to figure this out. Hope some of you will act as lab rats so i can sort this out. I don't want to to waste anymore bandwidth on this thread.

So should the Pre-amp be on the top shelf or the CD Player????
I currently have the order as follows;
Turntable
CD Player
Preamp
Power Amp
Tuner
Empty Shelf
Should I move the power amp to the bottom shelf, then swap the Preamp and CD player around, or are they fine as they are???
It depends on the rack that you use. Assuming that it is neither QS Reference nor Mana with a Reference top, then I'd go in the following order from top to bottom:
Turntable
CD
pre
tuner
empty
power.
Ideally the turntable shold be on a wallshelf though as it can transmit vibrations into the preamp through the rack giving a humming noise.
Once the turntable was on a wallshelf, the order could then be as follows:
pre
empty
CD
tuner
empty
power

Steve.

Not opted for traditional hard against the wall placement?
I don't have a traditional wall to be flat against. The wall is basically two feet thick with two cutouts floor to ceiling where it reduces to 'normal' and has some windows. So the speakers are inset into the nominal wall thickness but not hard against the windows. Seems to work OK.
A brik woofer can never be much closer than 18 inches from the wall. I don't see that a couple of inches is going to be critical.

Comments anyone?
Not a murmur on my first and only picture post -- any thoughts on simple ways to improve my current set up would be appreciated.
cheers,
Dan

Andy,
Well, a CD5i will be added soon I hope, at which point the Sansui tuner will probably need to go. Next on the wish list is a Lingo or 'geddon. After that, I suspect the target rack is the weak link.
Comments on simple changes to improve the current state of things would be appreciated. FYI the LP12 is in the corner because thats an outside corner and suffers the least from footfalls.
cheers

Syd,
Just wondering - do you use the radiator for heat? Are the TVs and speakers ok in spite of the
heat?
I have a problem where the in-wall heaters in my home restrict where I can place electronics and such.

Oops, and the (lack of) wallpaper in the alcove...

Andrew,
I'm recovering from flu - stuck in the house, so what better pastime to indulge in than a bit of Steve-baiting!!
I look forward to the opinion of his SWMNBO, too!
I've moved the AV2 up a shelf already.
Unfortunately IKEA don't sell extra shelves - I was miffed at that too. But I've got a (shelf-less) one next to my sofa out of shot, see.
You like 456s too? Good man! I think they're fabulous although my mates all lust after the 550.
Maybe the poor sod you followed was just scared of spinning the thing. Come to think of it, he or she probably isn't very poor.
Any comments on the super rack under the CDX2?
Cheers!
Richard.

I don't think the flash made the carpet look like that

There was a time you would not take an F car out in the rain because like most Italian cars of the time they would disolve in the rain.
