Sistem pics 2003

Posted by: Steve Toy on 14 January 2003

Here are a few crappy pics. I've got some of Stallion's rig too, but I await his permission to post them.

I need to get the file size down. I see that we now get 50k Smile

Regards,

Steve.

If those are bariks how high is the ceiling in that room? /Bob

Well Bob they are briks and to give you an image they are 1.5m high.

Room is really big and high. One end of the ceiling (in direction where are you looking) is 8,5m high and the other end is 6,5m high. Size of the room is 14m by 13m.

At the upper left corner of the picture you see the basement of a gallerie.

It's nice to life in an old factory.

Dave. I hate to tell you this, but the bottom level of your Fraim is the wrong way up.

Looks like the other side is out too.

Not a biggie, but it looks a bit better.

Nice in black that I couldnt have with an oak panneled room.

Alex
You need to get a programmable remote and put all those individual units away in a cupboard.

Jonathan,

Very observant!! Actually, I never thought about reversing the bottoms so the spacer indentions would be on the bottom....guess it would look better that way.

I'll put this on my "things to do list" during xmas school break....I might even find the energy to fix the Naim logos to the rack fronts;-)

dave

Dave,

Just a word of warning when you pull the thing apart. Watch as you pull/slide the components out that the glass tables dont drop off the rear bearing.

I cleaned mine up and re-checked all the spacing for the first time after two years and managed to chip a corner off the corner of one of mine amid lots of cursing and animal kicking and general profanity.

Good luck. We also have holidays here but its summer and hope we have no reason to stay indoors.

Cheers,

Jono.

Thanks Jonathan...been there done it;-)

Early on I let the glass slide too far and crashed the glass's rear portion (as well my CDS transport) into the shelf. Needless to say I lost warm-up time as I powered down the CDS, popped the sleeve, checked the suspension pin moorings (all was well), and re-assembled everything...oh well, it shouldn't happen again;-)

Have a fun summer!!

Hi Alex,

Thanks, I see you have already posted my system pics on your site.

I also saw that there are 3 pictures (taken from the sofa) that are more or less the same.

Here are a few more pic's that show my amp & speakers in close-up.
They're also on my site, but as it's totally in Dutch, I can imagine it's probably a bit hard to find.

(left/front picture from my Diapason speaker)

(my Diapason Micra from behind)

(more close-up picture of the Sonneteer)

I'll probably swap the silver front of my amp, for a black one.
(my dealer offered me to do this, and I think it looks a bit better with the CDX)

regards,
Alco Smile

If you have a sensible browser - place cursor on image on web site, press mouse button 2, select save image as - this aaves the image to your pc.

Mouse Button 2 is not the one you use when selecting items and is not the middle one on a 3 button mouse.

Left and right mouse buttons get reversed when set up for left handed usrs.

Right - I've just shifted my kit around in the rack, as recommended earlier in this thread.
It now looks like:

OK - is there an award for the worst system picture? - If so what's my prize?
Posted on: 30 January 2004 by Noel
Fisbey,

can you put up a picture of your Arcs? Other forum members/Arc owners may be able to make suggestions. I haven't got a digital camera so you can't see mine yet.

Noel. Smile

PS whats in the Whiskey tumbler?
Posted on: 30 January 2004 by Dobbin
i'd hazard a guess at absinthe
Posted on: 30 January 2004 by Fisbey
OK - I'm taking some pictures at the weekend - hopefully they won't be so dark...

What's in the whiskey glass - er it's a pine scented candle!
Posted on: 30 January 2004 by Noel
Fisbey,

Shame on you! Only Whiskey or Scotch should be put in a glass like that!

prowla,

You haven't listened to me at all! Wink

The preamp should be on the top shelf - that's the shelf above the one it sits on. Lose the junk on the top shelf and put the preamp on there. Then each Hi-cap will have a shelf each.

Steve.

Just a thought but......
why are we not posting new pics on the system pics 2004 thread? Wink
Posted on: 31 January 2004 by prowla
Sorry - my fault!
I previously posted mine (in 2003) and a couple of peoples suggested I change the racking order. I finally found the time to do it last weekend and re-posted. (But I still haven't moved to the top shelf, Steve...Wink) (Oh, and incidentally - did you notice the order of FISBEY's set-up?WinkWink)
The system sounded rather good today - I was chucking away in a contented sort of manner whilst listening to some tunes this morning.
