Sistem pics 2003

Posted by: Steve Toy on 14 January 2003

Here are a few crappy pics. I've got some of Stallion's rig too, but I await his permission to post them.

I need to get the file size down. I see that we now get 50k Smile

Regards,

Steve.

Hi Leeto

Try moving the Hicap off the 250, onto the floor, away from the cables and let us know if it sounds better - I reckon it will....

Some nice pics going on here - all much better than mine.

Keep 'em coming...

A number of folks I've spoke to about this thread suggested that it may encourage burglars.

My response was that even the vermin can read - they won't wait around for the pics. Keep you home address secret, and have a Mick P-like shotgun at the ready Wink

Discussion point: Should mere lurking only be available to vetted and signed up members?

Steve.

The website says the shelves are fully suspended, but it looks like two corners are coupled to the floor?
Posted on: 19 January 2003 by garyi
Derek I hate you.

The only thing I can find wrong with your set up is the CDP seems to be out of line

Otherwise I would happily settle for any single componant in there.

Sorry Gary - I have removed the offensive pictures
next time I will get the CDP in line - I am just a scruffy sod -

Alex,

the process is fairly painless.

Once you have a picture on your PC, you first need to reduce it to 50kB in size.

Then, compoase a reply as normal (NB not a 'quick reply') and enter the text of your post.

To attach the photo, click the paper clip button in the toolbar, then click the Browse button, locate your file, click Open, then OK.

That's it!

The biggest hurdle is getting a decent image in 50kB. E-mail your image to me if you have problems with this.

cheers, Martin

Alex,

That's a fine looking stack there, and even better for what it sits on. Smile

However, get that XPS as far away from that 82 as possible.

Do not underestimate what this will do either.

Allowing the preamp to breathe - well away from brawny components like the XPS, the Hi-cap, and the 250 will enable it to process those high-frequency signals with lower distortion. The result will be a sweeter top end, and a more focused image.

You need a spacer shelf to achieve this. If you think a 6-tier is getting a bit too wobbly, then you'll need either to build two racks side by side, or get a QS Ref. wallshelf for the CDX.

Regards,

Steve.

Marco

Bit of a sweeping statement but the old chrome bumper 135's sound much warmer than the newer ones. I bought an older pair and had them serviced because I like the sound and it goes well with Briks. To me, older 135's and Briks are a marriage made in heaven.

Off course, you may prefer the leaner faster sound of the olive model, so you have to make up your own mind.

As a photographer you are no great shakes. And your constant whining that it's not fair someone should say so,

I said in the very first post in this thread that my pics were crap. I never had any issue with anyone speaking the truth on that score.

Herm,

Pay attention!

Marco,

Yes, it's a result Smile (just waiting for "Bambam" (sleeper cell #2/?) to be ba...) so back to the plot, and let's see some more pics. I'm sure that they'll all be better than mine.

Keep 'em coming...

I pay exactly the right amount of attention, and what I see, Steven, is your attitude in this case only makes sense to you and your Batfriend.

Interesting to see you're converting to double-hyphens yourself.

Herm,

Is that how your computer recognises UBB code, or whatever?

[ b ] ... [ /b] becomes -- ... -- (?) Confused
